Noppingen | The incorporation of Steinhausen
On September 1st, 2005, Steinhausen got officially incorporated and is now a district of Noppingen. On September 3rd, the mayor of Steinhausen, Fritz Kranemann, handed over the key of the town to mayor Johann Steinkopf in the course of a festival at Noppingen palace.
A few days earlier, the place-name signs of Steinhausen were replaced with those of Noppingen. Also, the name of Noppingen was painted on the harbour's quay, which didn't find approval by all Steinhausen citizens. This caused a few peaceful protest rallys here and there.
